The bosses of the gloomily awakened NPR network have been condemned for a grim article aimed at helping Americans left “stressed” by the unfolding crisis in Ukraine.
IN historypublished on Friday, was titled “5 Ways to Cope with a Stressful News Cycle” and was rated as patronizing and deaf, given the bloodshed and heartache Ukrainians face at the mercy of Vladimir Putinforces of.
NPR’s guide to clearing the mind of war-related stress included urging people to “breathe”, “move”, “eat”, “stay connected” or “give up” on social media and news if they also find it frustrating.
But the network – which many longtime listeners say has become obsessed with race, gender identity and “equality” in recent years – has been attacked online for the song’s tone and timing.

“People who are literally dying, this is the dumbest and weakest nonsense I’ve ever read. Instead of continuing to be a victim, what do you say to practicing being grateful that you are not a victim, and with that power, do something about it, ”another person tweeted in response.
“Please stop,” wrote author Christina Somers to the publication.
“The dumbest thing NPR has ever offered, and that says a lot,” tweets Politico columnist Jack Shaffer.
And journalist Nelly Bowles wrote: “At this point, a group of aggressive Shetland ponies could take over our country by force and they would deserve it.”
Ukraine’s armed forces took part in a fierce battle for Kiev on Friday night, with footage on social media showing explosions near a metro station in the capital’s center; the battle for control of the TPP in the north continues; and numerous reports suggesting fierce fighting 20 miles south of a vital air base.

In Kiev, meanwhile, footage shared on social media shows a bombing near the Beresteiska metro station in the western part of the city.

The northern suburb of Troyeschina was also under prolonged attack for another night as Russia tried to wrest control of a thermal power plant on the banks of the Dnieper River. Unconfirmed reports suggest dozens of Russians have been arrested.
The Ukrainian government announced on Friday night that it had shot down two Russian military transport planes with paratroopers on the outskirts of Kiev.
The first IL-76 crashed near Vasilkov, 20 miles south of Kiev, the Ukrainian military said.
