For the first time, a drone with explosives was found in Bulgaria, which apparently comes from the war in Ukraine. A Bulgarian Navy team disabled the drone, which was about three meters long, found in a village on the Black Sea coast near the border with Romania, the Bulgarian Defense Ministry said on Monday.
So a team of military experts was sent to the coastal city of Tyulenovo. A hotelier reported on Sunday that a large drone-like object was stuck in the cliffs. “During the inspection, an 82-millimeter mortar was found attached to the remains of a drone,” the ministry said. As the mortar could not be moved due to its condition, the team deactivated it with a controlled explosion.

Minister of Defense: War poses risks to Romanian security
“We can safely assume that (the drone) is related to the war launched by Russia against Ukraine,” said Defense Minister Todor Tagarev. “This war inevitably involves increasing risks to our security.”
Since the start of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine in February 2022, the Bulgarian Navy has deactivated four mines in its territorial waters. The discovery was the first discovery of a drone-mounted explosive in the Balkan state. Debris of Russian drones was recently found in Romania.
