Vaudreuil-Dorion is a growing city with numerous residential projects, high-quality jobs and several commercial areas. The population has doubled in the last fifteen years and is now just over 40,000 residents. The Department of Public Works is currently looking for a Building Mechanic.
Under the responsibility of the head of the “Maintenance of Buildings, Systems and Vehicles” department, the building mechanic takes on various tasks in connection with the preparation, planning, implementation and control of construction and renovation projects. and the comprehensive renovation of systems in a building (heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, refrigeration, emergency systems, rink cooling systems, temperature control systems, etc.). In collaboration with the builder, the incumbent also ensures the proper functioning of the mechanical systems of the various municipal buildings.
Requirements
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Building Mechanical Engineering;
- You have at least three (3) years of experience in a similar position;
- Good knowledge of reading plans and specifications, construction methods, monitoring and estimation methods and current regulations;
- Proficiency in Quebec building regulations;
- Proficiency in Autocad software, Microsoft Office suite and IT tools associated with the role;
- Fluent French and report writing techniques;
- Knowledge of various remote building management platforms (Asset);
- Have a valid Class 5 driving license;
- Have a Construction Site Health and Safety Card (ASP) (Asset).
Work schedule and salary
The regular work week is thirty-seven and a half (37.5 hours) per week, spread over five (5) days, Monday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
As a guideline, the salary range is between $33.80 and $39.77 per hour. The city of Vaudreuil-Dorion applies a salary integration rule that takes into account the directly relevant experience profile of the applicant.
