Gisele Bündchen revealed that the past few years have been “very hard on my family” due to her divorce from Tom Brady last October, her children’s move to Florida, the COVID-19 pandemic and private care of two sick parents.
“It’s been a lot – in every area of my life,” the 43-year-old CAA fashion model admitted to People on Monday.
“I feel like every time it rains it pours. “With all the twists and turns that life brings, all we can do is do the best we can given what is happening around us.”
Gisele previously consoled herself with alcohol – she was known on camera drinking red wine in the VIP suite at US Bank Stadium in Minneapolis as she watched the 46-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion’s team lose to the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018.
But Bündchen made the decision to get sober “over two years ago,” and now she feels clearer, clearer, and sleeps better.

“Actually, right after I turned 40, I felt a big difference between when I drank that glass of wine and when I didn’t drink a glass of wine. It is socially acceptable to drink a glass of wine. And people even say, “Oh, that’s healthy for you.” “Well, that’s not healthy for me,” the sixth-generation Brazilian bombshell admitted.
“If you want to ask of your body what I ask of my body, and that’s a lot, then I can’t take all of those things (alcohol, caffeine) because they add up.”
Gisele added: “You have to be loving to yourself.” If you’re asking a lot of your body, you need to reset. You have to take care of this only vehicle you have, right?’
When she was in her early 20s, Bündchen admitted that she started the day with “two cigarettes and a mocha frappuccino with whipped cream” and ended it “every night with a bottle of wine” to treat her “severe panic attacks and depression.”
“I meditate every day, I train every day,” explained the Gaia Herbs “wellness ambassador,” who is reportedly dating her handsome jiu-jitsu instructor Joaquim Valente.
“I’m just so grateful that I have this body, I really am.” Now I’ve learned – because I wasn’t that good in my twenties or as a teenager – I’ve realized that my body is my temple and me really want to enjoy it. That’s why moving my body is a big thing for me.”
Gisele had homeschooled 13-year-old son Benjamin Rain Brady and 10-year-old daughter Vivian Lake Brady until they were enrolled in a Miami-area school.
“You make friends at school. They like it. It’s just all new. “But they really like it and are getting things done,” enthused Bündchen.
