Venezuelan journalist and former partner of Marc Anthony, Verónica Rasquin, said in an interview that the Puerto Rican singer was “quite manipulative” and “possessive.”
“Totally possessive, that was one of the reasons why I had to leave… He tells me that I was a runaway girlfriend because I practically didn’t come back,” commented the salsero’s ex-girlfriend during an interview with the TV show “ “It’s getting hot.”
Likewise, Rasquin claimed he told Marc that there were “things” he would no longer tolerate in the relationship. When the presenter of the show asked if he had physically abused her, the Venezuelan assured that he had not, but that he had done so verbally.
“No physical violence, but yeah, he’s a pretty manipulative guy, but physical violence, drug problems, that has nothing to do with it. “Verbal abuse, yes… thank God I had the strength to say ‘no,’ I knew how to set my boundaries,” Rasquin said.
Additionally, he pointed out that Marc Anthony thought he was “joking” when he decided to end the relationship, as he did so in a very calm manner.
“He told me, ‘Book your flight to Venezuela,’ and by the time he came over I had already left. We continued talking on the phone for a while, trying to get back, but when I got there I got a job as a news reporter and said to him, “If you can put up with me taking this job for a few months and see how I feel, “I’ll see if this relationship will work.” “He couldn’t hold it,” Rasquin said.
The journalist stated that she met the Puerto Rican artist during an interview that she had to do in Miami and, laughing, pointed out that she had kept the engagement ring that he gave her.
“Well, we fell in love, a month later he told me to come live with him in New York,” he remembers.
