Three other children showed signs of poisoning from this very powerful opioid.
A one year old baby East died of a fentanyl overdose last week in one crib from New York. Last Friday the owner alerted the emergency services when little Santa didn’t wake up. When they arrived at the scene, they discovered Nicholas Dominici, an 8-month-old girl and a 2-year-old boy, showing signs of opioid poisoning.
Doctors immediately gave him Narcan, an anti-overdose drug three childrenand thus helps to counteract the symptoms of children aged 8 months and 2 years. Unfortunately, Nicholas Dominici was pronounced dead at a hospital in the Bronx later that day.
A fourth child The patient, who attended the same daycare center, was brought to the hospital by his mother after exhibiting signs of opioid exposure, including shortness of breath and unresponsiveness.
Drug found under carpet where children slept
It remains unclear how the children might have been exposed to these drugs. The cause and circumstances of little Nicholas’ death are the subject of a Investigation further.
Nevertheless, a sealed package containing fentanyl worth several thousand dollars was discovered at the daycare center. The medication was found under a carpet where the children had slept. However, the owner claimed she was unaware of the presence of this very powerful opioid.
Police also found two devices used to combine the drug with other narcotics in a closet in a hallway connected to the apartment.
