Amazon Canada is looking to hire 6,000 new full-time, part-time and seasonal employees across its logistics network as it prepares for the holiday season.
To achieve this, the e-commerce giant has decided to increase the salaries of these employees.
Therefore, the average starting hourly rate offered in the shipping and delivery sector is $21 per hour, compared to $17 in 2018.
Tasks in Amazon’s logistics network include warehousing, picking, packing, sorting, shipping orders to customers, and more. They are available in communities across Canada.
Eligible full-time and part-time hourly employees will also receive scheduled salary increases every six months through the 24th month of employment, followed by an additional increase in the 36th month of employment. They may also receive referral bonuses for candidates they hire for qualified positions.
Amazon currently has more than 60 different logistics locations in Canada.
