A traveler went through hell when she claimed Air France lost her suitcase for two months, despite an AirTag indicating it was at the airport.

Worse still, when she finally got her suitcase back, $1,600 worth of items were missing.
Sarah Waite, 25, traveled from Los Angeles to Athens with a stopover in Paris.
But when she landed in the Greek capital, she discovered that her suitcase had not arrived on the plane and would not arrive until later.
A week later, Sarah, a Los Angeles native, received a notification from her AirTag, an Apple tracking device, that her suitcase had left Paris and was finally in Athens.
When she went to pick it up, Air France employees told her they didn’t have it.
Without her suitcase, Sarah, who suffers from Graves’ disease, had to buy a range of products, including her thyroid medication.
“I lost hope but continued to communicate with the airline every day and send them receipts for the items I needed to purchase,” she says.
Two months later, on July 20, Sarah was still able to locate her AirTag, so she made one last attempt and went to the airport again.
However, according to her, she encountered employees who were unwilling to help her.
“The people who helped me were very rude, yelled at me when I expressed my frustration and told me there was nothing they could do even though they work at the airport and could take me where the AirTag was is,” complained the young woman.
According to Sarah, staff eventually agreed to take her to the lost and found office where she was finally able to collect her luggage.
When she found her suitcase, Sarah said it was obvious it was damaged and items had been lost or stolen.

“My luggage was completely torn, there were no shoes, no makeup, bags were missing and the zippers were not closed,” she explains.
Sarah says the value of her missing belongings is about $1,600.
She describes her experience as “horrifying and traumatic.”
