Unless both men experience further physical issues, the team’s fans will see them back in action this season after missing the entire previous season. Couturier played his last game on December 18, 2021 and was down due to recurring back problems. He also underwent surgery in February 2022.
The 30-year-old hockey player won the Frank Selke Trophy in 2019-2020 and signed an eight-year, $62 million contract on August 26, 2021.
For his part, Atkinson underwent neck surgery. He has 50 points in 73 games in 2021-2022.
