Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner make a “mutual decision” to end their marriage
Singer Joe Jonas has filed for divorce from actress Sophie Turner, citing an “amicable decision” to end their marriage after four years.

Sophie Turner’s divorce from Joe Jonas marks the beginning of a new era in her friendship with Taylor Swift.
Turner was spotted arm in arm with Swift, Jonas’ ex-girlfriend, in New York City on Tuesday evening on their way to dinner at Italian restaurant Via Carota, a hotspot for Swift sightings.
The “Game of Thrones” alum looked glamorous in a sparkly silver halter top and gray pants, and the “Lavender Haze” singer opted for a red sweater dress under a long denim jacket, as seen in photos from Just Jared and People see is.
Turner and Swift’s girls’ night comes two weeks after the 34-year-old Jonas Brothers singer filed for divorce from the 27-year-old “Game of Thrones” actress in Miami-Dade County court, according to USA TODAY verified court documents show.
The application for dissolution of marriage submitted by Jonas states: “The marriage between the parties has broken down irretrievably.”
The couple made the comments in a joint statement on September 7 with posts on both Instagram accounts.
“After four wonderful years of marriage, we have mutually decided to end our marriage amicably,” they wrote. “There are many speculative narratives as to why, but it is truly a shared decision and we sincerely hope that everyone can respect our desire for privacy for ourselves and our children.”
Swift’s sisterhood with Turner is poignant, considering the singer dated Jonas for a few months back in 2008. This relationship is rumored to have inspired some of the songs on Swift’s album “Fearless” and the Jonas Brothers song “Much Better.”
Her appearance doesn’t come as much of a surprise, however, as the “Survive” actress has been vocal about being a Swift fan.
“Favorite Taylor Swift album: ‘1989’, hands down. The best,” Turner said during one Instagram Live session alongside Jonas in August 2022. “Literally one of my favorite albums of all time.”
She added: “Although ‘Reputation’ was inspired by or partially inspired by Sansa and Arya Stark.”
Jonas agreed with her sentiments, telling Turner: “’1989′ is a great album. Bangers!”

Luckily for Turner, 1989 (Taylor’s Version) will be available on October 27, the same date the original album was released nine years ago.
“Surprise!!” Fast wrote on X, the social media site formerly known as Twitter when the album was announced last month. “The 1989 album has changed my life in countless ways and it gives me great excitement to announce that my version of it will be released on October 27th.” She added that “1989” is her “favorite re-recording that I have ever recorded.” “I’ve ever done.”
