The 26-year-old world gymnastics superstar won the all-around event at the American selection for the world championships, which secured him a place on the Belgian team, the American federation (USA Gymnastics) said in a statement.
Biles, who won his eighth all-around title at the national championships in late August, is “the first American in history to be selected for six World Artistic Gymnastics Championships,” the American Olympic Committee (Team USA) greeted on X (formerly Twitter). ).
She extended her tally of 19 titles even further at the World Championships, held in the Flemish city from September 30 to October 8, where she opened her 2013 tally with four medals, including two gold.
The world championships come nine months before the Olympics in Paris, where the four-time Olympic champion recently said she would “love” to win more titles.
Biles did not confirm his participation in the World Championships, but reposted the Team USA news without comment.

She withdrew from most of the 2021 Olympics in Japan for psychological and safety reasons. The gymnast explained that she experienced a bout of “twisties,” a dangerous disorientation in space that puts athletes at risk of injury upon landing.
Simone Biles, who married an American football player in April, also became involved in the fight against sexual abuse after being one of the victims of attacks by former national team doctor Larry Nassar, who was sentenced to life in prison in 2018.
