Five wins in a row for the Blue Jays

The Toronto Blue Jays’ winning streak continued with a 6-1 win over the Yankees on Wednesday night in New York.

This game was presented on TVA Sports.

The only Canadian team in major baseball recorded its fifth consecutive victory. The John Schneider men are in the middle of the race for one of three “wild card” spots at the American Championship. With today’s win, they maintained their narrow one-game lead over the Seattle Mariners and Texas Rangers. These two teams also enjoyed their victory in the evening.

In this second part of a three-game series against the Bronx Bombers, starter Kevin Gausman (12-9) allowed just three sure hits and as many free passes in six innings of work. The 32-year-old right-hander also had 10 strikeouts.

The Jays lost their shutout in the ninth inning when Austin Wells threw a throw from reliever Erik Swanson out of bounds.

At the plate in Toronto camp, Bo Bichette stood out with two RBIs and a run scored in five plate appearances. The winners also benefited from the generosity of the opposing gunners, as they scored two of their points through walks.

Without Vladimir Guerrero son

The Blue Jays were without first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Before the game, the organization announced that the Dominican had to sit out due to right knee problems.

Guerrero Jr. was scheduled to be the designated hitter for this game. The game of musical chairs began with the Jays, Spencer Horwitz taking his place while Cavan Biggio played first padder and Whit Merrifield played second.

The 24-year-old big hitter had a good time hitting home runs in three straight games last week. However, he was silent in five at-bats against the Big Apple club on Tuesday. Guerrero Jr. leads the team with 24 long balls and 90 RBIs. He had a .264 batting average that season.

The Blue Jays will try to win the series against the Yankees on Thursday. We will present this fight to you from 7 p.m.
