The phenomenon is changing some cities. Mexico City has partnered with UNESCO United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization to promote the Mexican capital as a global hub for remote workers and creative tourism capital. However, with the growing number of digital nomads, a problem has arisen: As demand for accommodation increases, owners in some cities are turning their homes into special spaces to welcome these foreigners. This movement creates a distortion in the real estate market that harms the local population. This is what is happening in Lisbon.
