UN Assembly: Lula da Silva opens the session

The Brazilian president opened the UN assembly with a speech in which he stressed that his country was once again aware of the danger that climate change poses to everyone. The president of the South American giant focused on economic inequality in the world and criticized that the war between Russia and Ukraine was an example of the “collective inability” to enforce the principles of the UN.

“We do not underestimate the difficulties of achieving peace, but no solution will last unless it is based on dialogue,” Lula said during his speech to the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday. “There is a lot of investment in weapons and very little in development,” he added.
