After devoting his speech to the theme of the Franco-British bond at the gala dinner in his honor at the Palace of Versailles last night, King Charles III, entering the French Senate for the first time, addressed the Senators of Common Purpose between London in French and Paris on Ukraine: “Together,” said the British sovereign, “we are unbreakable in our determination to ensure that Ukraine triumphs and the freedoms we hold so dear are reaffirmed.”
Charles III therefore suggested on the second day of his visit to Paris that France and Britain should commit to “unity” on “sustainability” with the aim of responding “more effectively to the global emergency on climate and biodiversity”. . Charles III has always been a strong supporter of the defense of the environment and of issues related to ecology in general, and proposed taking inspiration in this alliance with Paris from the historic Entente cordiale, a text that the two countries signed in 1904 to overcome the strong differences of the time. The King justified the initiative with the need to “follow the example of the past” between the two countries in order to “face the immense challenges of the world around us.”
