Islanders: Alexander Romanov finally answers

New York Islanders defenseman Alexander Romanov has likely found a way to thwart the predictions of his general manager Lou Lamoriello, who expected him to shine through his absence on the ice.

As The Hockey News magazine clearly showed, the former Montreal Canadiens were running with good intensity on Thursday morning. The hockey player mentioned to the same source that he was in peak physical shape and described his return to form as not pleasant. However, the CEO recently stated that there was a good chance that the Russian would start the training camp late.

Romanov faced scrutiny after his team was eliminated in the first round of the 2023 playoffs by the Carolina Hurricanes. Due to a shoulder injury, he missed the last five games of the regular season and the first two games against Caroline. After being acquired by the Habs in July 2022, he collected 22 points, a total of 129 blocked shots and 198 hits in his first year on Long Island.
