Actor Angus Cloud, famous for his role as Fezco in the HBO series Euphoria, died of an accidental overdose, the coroner of Alameda County, California, told Rolling Stone magazine on Thursday (21). The artist was found dead in his home on July 31, 2023, 25 years old. He suffered acute intoxication from the combination of fentanyl, cocaine, benzodiazepines and methamphetamine.
On the day of his death, Cloud’s family released a statement to the American press: “It is with heavy hearts that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human being today. As an artist, friend, brother and son, Angus was special to all of us in many ways.”
The note said that the actor buried his father last week and that he had “struggled greatly with this loss.” He also noted that Cloud “spoke openly about his struggle with mental health and we hope his death can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this alone in silence.”
According to website TMZ, the actor’s mother called the police around 11:30 a.m. when she found her son unconscious. She reported to authorities a possible overdose and that the young man had no pulse.
In a Facebook post on August 4, she said she believed in the accidental overdose hypothesis and not that her son committed suicide. “Posts on social media indicate his death was intentional. I want you to know that is not the case,” he wrote.
“His last day was a happy day. He was in the process of reorganizing his room and placing items around the house with the intention of spending some time in the house he loved. He spoke about his intention to help his sisters graduate from college and also help his mother emotionally and financially. He had no intention of ending his life,” he said. (Estadão Conteúdo)
