Samsung Electronics, a leader in advanced semiconductor technology, announced its new flagship UHS-I memory card model “PRO Ultimate” in microSD format, enabling professional photographers and content creators to maximize the productivity of their creative capacities. The new PRO Ultimate series offers a capacity of up to 512 gigabytes (GB) and remarkable sequential read speeds of up to 200 megabytes per second (MB/s).

Best-in-class read and write speeds with UHS-I interface
The PRO Ultimate highlights Samsung’s technical innovations and sets an industry-leading standard with read speeds of up to 200 MB/s, the maximum speed achievable with the UHS-I interface, and write speeds of 130 MB/s/s. These reliably high – Powerful read and write speeds, regardless of capacity, make it easy to transfer large files such as 4K Ultra High Definition (UHD) and Full HD (FHD) videos with support for Class 30 video speed ( V30).
To meet consumer needs for the ability to process large amounts of content and enable fast transfers to other devices, the PRO Ultimate microSD card features Application Performance Class 2 (A2), which provides high performance for operations, random read – and writing functions as well as multitasking functions.
Increased reliability and durability
Samsung PRO Ultimate provides professional photographers and creative professionals with reliable performance thanks to the improved ECC (Error Correction Code) engine and multi-proof controller protection features, ensuring safer data storage for long periods of time.
With an upgrade to CCE’s Low Density Parity Check Code (LDPC) from a 1 kilobyte (KB) engine to 2 KB, PRO Ultimate provides improved durability for higher volumes of write and erase cycles.
The PRO Ultimate passes the industry’s most stringent tests and offers hassle-free use even in harsh environments with features such as water protection for up to 72 hours at a depth of two meters, a design that withstands drops from up to five meters, wear protection for up to 10,000 scans, as well as X-ray and magnetic protection. It can also operate in extreme temperatures from -25°C to 85°C.
Optimized power efficiency with a 28nm regulator
A new 28 nanometer (nm) regulator delivers a 37 percent improvement in power efficiency compared to previous Samsung product lines with a 55 nm regulator. This gives consumers the ability to use their devices for extended periods of time without having to charge them frequently, allowing users to get the most out of their device’s battery life.

General availability
The PRO Ultimate microSD card comes with a ten-year limited warranty and is available in three different storage capacities of 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. Manufacturer’s suggested retail prices (MSRP) range from $28.99 for the 128GB model to $84.99 for the 512GB card.
