Microsoft is back with the Surface Laptop Go 3 and the Laptop Studio 2 – Connect

Microsoft introduced two new laptops in its Surface series at the end of September. The Surface Laptop Go 3 is a revamp of its cheapest laptop. The Surface Laptop Studio 2 becomes the most powerful and most expensive laptop in the Surface series.

Both new additions are on sale now, but deliveries will begin in early October. Retail prices are $799 for the Surface Laptop Go 3 and $2,000 for the Surface Laptop Studio 2.

Surface Laptop Go 3

The Go 3 is the third generation of Surface’s entry-level laptop. Microsoft says it’s 88 percent faster at opening apps and performing tasks than the original Laptop Go, which to say the least: This device wasn’t particularly good.

The newcomer is equipped with a 12.4-inch touchscreen. It is a relatively compact format, although the laptop market tends to focus on models with 13- to 15-inch screens.

The device is said to have an above-average battery life of 15 hours per charge. Its weight is just over 1.1 kilos.

Microsoft expects it will appeal to mobile content creators, students and mobile workers who don’t like lugging around a large laptop. Interesting detail: The device includes Windows Clipchamp, a video editor that allows you to create simple, custom-formatted edits for sharing on social networks, including Instagram and Tiktok.

The device is sold in four colors.

Surface Laptop Studio 2

The Studio 2 laptop is the most powerful Surface PC that Microsoft has ever produced, assures its product range manager.

The device is powered by a 13th generation Intel Core processor. The scope of delivery includes a GeForce graphics card from Nvidia, which is available in two versions depending on the user’s needs. In a demo showcasing the device’s capabilities, Microsoft rendered a graphics image that took 37 seconds of processing time from a Surface Laptop 2. A MacBook Pro with an Apple M2 processor took 1 minute and 14 seconds to complete the same task.

The Laptop Studio 2’s screen is a 14.4-inch touchscreen display that can be moved across the keyboard or across its entire base. A Slim Pen 2 magnetic charging pen is included.

The device is equipped with a set of high-quality speakers compatible with the Dobly Atmos spatial sound standard. Its RAM can reach 64 gigabytes. Its internal memory can increase to 2 terabytes.

Microsoft promises a battery life of up to a day.
