The demonstrators regret that they will lose around a hundred parking spaces due to the proliferation of cycle paths in the area.

Since then, they say, it’s been a race to park your car every day.

“We are in no way against cycling, except for us motorists who are there.” [sur la route] We need parking spaces out of necessity, not choice. We have children, we work. We need parking spaces, especially this coming winter. Where should we park?” one citizen protested.

The borough’s mayor, Laurence Lavigne Lalonde, confirmed to the Journal that there was no question of withdrawing the projects.
