Our investigative agency learned from Claude Legault that his image was used to promote male enhancement to counter erectile dysfunction problems.
“Even if it was a really good product, they don’t have the right to use my identity to promote it. Lend me words, lend me intentions, lend me life problems that I don’t have. And their product is probably crap,” complains the actor.
The presenters Gino Chouinard and Ève-Marie Lortie as well as the nutritional doctor Isabelle Huot also denounce the dishonest tactics of fraudsters who have stolen their image to promote weight loss pills.
“It makes me angry. They do this with my name, with my face and with words that don’t belong to me. I have nothing to do with that,” emphasizes the presenter of Salut Bonjour Weekend, whose image was linked to Viaketo products .

Ève-Marie Lortie filed a report with the Quebec police after this incident and also made several publications on social networks to warn people.
Scope of messages
Presenter Gino Chouinard also had to make adjustments after his image was used without his consent.
“I would say I must have replied to about a hundred messages a week… to which I said, ‘No!’ Don’t buy this, it’s a scam,” the host admits.

Nutritionist Isabelle Huot, who has also become the “face” of these products, finds it unfortunate that people get involved in them.
“They take advantage of my fame, my notoriety and put me on the front page of a fake 7-day magazine with the little ViaKeto pill. But no, that can’t be! People who know me know that I am against the keto approach,” she emphasizes.

Why these stars?
These stars all ask the same question: Why were they chosen by these scammers?
“One of the hypotheses is that we simply contacted a freelance consultant responsible for such market research,” says Catherine Dupont-Gagnon, director of Cyber Citoyen.
“We contact him and ask him to find a list of 10 to 15 well-known people in Quebec who would sell, for example, nutritional supplements. The person is conducting this research lawfully. The fraudsters simply took this list and created fake accounts using this information.”
