Tom Wilson un Capital pour toute sa carriere

This Capitals pest says he’s ready for next season – Le Journal de Montréal

Fiery Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson says he is fully recovered from his ACL injury and wants to contribute more to his team’s success next season.

Injuries have not spared Wilson as he also broke his ankle in January. However, he said on Friday on the second day of the team’s training camp in the US capital that he was feeling better and his rehabilitation was going well.

“I started doing fun things again, lifting weights and running track. It felt good to be back. I think I probably work a little smarter in the gym. […] Now, at this point in my career, I need to be a little smarter. Still, I always want to be the one lifting the most weight,” Wilson told The Hockey News on Friday.

The 29-year-old striker also mentioned that his expectations for next season are high.

“I want to get better every year. I’m not going to sit here and set goals. I try to do everything I can every night to help the team win. However, our best players have to be our best players. The veterans group will have to lead the way and there will be some young people to help contribute.

The Torontonian collected 22 points, including 13 goals, in 33 games last season.
