Roger Federer is a fan of Félix Auger-Aliassime. The legendary tennis player himself made this confidence to our journalist Frédérique Guay, who met him during the Laver Cup, which is in full swing in Vancouver.
When the Quebecer was made aware of these comments, he was obviously flattered. He spoke a little about the bonds he has built with the Swiss over the years.
“I saw him on Tuesday,” he said. Sometimes he asks me questions, he wants to know how I’m doing. Maybe he has something interesting to say. I’ve always been a big fan of him as a person. It’s always special to see him, he has an aura about him.
“I’m happy that he speaks so well about me and to know that he’s interested in what I do, that he’s listening.”
Auger-Aliassime will make his debut in the Laver Cup tournament on Friday evening. He will face the always flamboyant Gaël Monfils.
For “FAA”, defending the Laver Cup title won last year is an opportunity to create good feelings on the court again after a more complicated year than expected on the ATP circuit.
