After a very quiet first quarter in which no points were scored, Jason Maas’ men took the lead thanks to a Caleb Evans touchdown in the second quarter. It was Reggie Begelton who responded to Calgary’s equalizer.

A David Côté field goal allowed Montreal to return to the locker room with an 11-8 lead.

In the third quarter, defensive back Marc-Antoine Dequoy stood out after making an excellent interception in the Alouettes’ end zone on third down. This was enough to motivate the Montreal players as Caleb Evans scored his second touchdown of the game to give his team an 18-8 lead.

At the end of the game, running back William Stanback finally ended any hope of a comeback for Calgary by scoring the final touchdown of the game for Montreal.

With this win, the Alouettes have a record of 7-7 and are in second place in the East Division behind the Toronto Argonauts. The Stampeders suffered a second straight setback with this loss to Montreal. They have a record of four wins and ten defeats.

This win is also the seventh for the Sparrows against a team with a performance of less than or equal to .500. Note that the club did not win against a club with a winning record this year.

The Alouettes’ next game is next week against the Rouge et Noir in Ottawa.
