War in Ukraine Sergey Lavrov calls on US and NATO

The Westerners "fight directly" Russia in Ukraine, for Sergei Lavrov

The head of Russian diplomacy was asked about US involvement in the conflict in Ukraine during a long press conference at the UN headquarters in New York.

The West is fighting Russia “directly” in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov accused on Saturday on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly.

“You can call it whatever you want, but they are fighting us, they are fighting us directly. We call it hybrid war, but that doesn’t change the reality,” he added, referring to financial aid, armaments and “mercenaries” from Western countries.

The head of Russian diplomacy was asked about US involvement in the conflict in Ukraine during a long press conference at the UN headquarters in New York.

“The fact that they are de facto fighting against us with the troops of the Ukrainians, I think that everyone here who is interested in the situation in Ukraine knows very well that the Americans, the British and others are fighting by First of all, provide more and more weapons,” accused Sergei Lavrov.

“Not realistic”

The United States and European countries that have supplied weapons systems to Kiev since Russia’s invasion in February 2022 insist that they are not at war with Moscow but are helping Ukraine defend itself.

The Russian minister spoke on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, where Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky personally visited to seek more support from the international community.

He proposed a peace summit to discuss his peace plan to end the war.

Sergey Lavrov said this proposed solution was “completely unworkable, impossible to implement, unrealistic.”
