The Frenchman Arthur Fils (44th) replaces the fourth player in the world in training.
The TVA Sports channel will broadcast the entire Laver Cup from Friday.
A few days earlier, the Dane Holger Rune, fifth player in the ATP ranking, also withdrew due to injury.
This means that none of the five best players in the world, which also includes Serbian Novak Djokovic, Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz and Russian Daniil Medvedev, will be in the game for Team Europe.
In the world’s top 10, which includes nine out of ten Europeans, only the Russian Andrey Rublev (6th) and the Norwegian Casper Ruud (9th) will be in the competition.
The Pole Hubert Hurkacz (16th), the Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina (25th, who replaces Rune) and the Frenchman Gaël Monfils (142nd) are the other players in Team Europe.
For its part, Team World is represented by the Quebecer Félix Auger-Aliassime (14th), the Americans Taylor Fritz (8th), Frances Tiafoe (11th), Tommy Paul (13th), Ben Shelton (19th) and the Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo (21st). The American Christopher Eubanks (32nd) and the Canadian Milos Raonic (322nd) come into play as replacements.
