MHD is considered a pioneer of the “Afro trap” and was convicted this Saturday morning, the 23rd, after once again declaring his innocence. His lawyers declined to comment after the verdict, but they have 10 days to appeal the decision. He now has to spend at least a year and a half in prison before his sentence is reviewed.

The murder occurred in July 2018 when Loïc K was run over by a Mercedes in Paris and then attacked. He died shortly after his attackers left the scene. The car was found burned out in a nearby parking lot the next day.

According to the local newspaper, several witnesses said he was at the crime scene. Investigators also discovered that the burned Mercedes belonged to him, and a man with blonde hair wearing a tracksuit may be seen in one of the crime videos. Back then, MHD dyed her hair and wore clothes in that style.

The rapper gained notoriety in 2015 when a video of him went viral on YouTube. In just a few months, he became a globally recognized artist and was noticed by artists such as Madonna and Drake.
