A few weeks before the start of the regular season, Sidney Crosby apparently has high expectations for Oilers captain Connor McDavid.
Last season, the Alberta-based club’s No. 97 player scored 153 points, the most by an NHL player since Mario Lemieux in the 1995-1996 season. The Pittsburgh Penguins legend then blacked out the scorer’s list 161 times.

Pens captain Sidney Crosby appears to have high expectations for the first overall pick of the 2015 draft. He even thinks the Oilers star could score 170 points or more this year.
“I mean, I didn’t think 150 would be in the cards for him, but he found a way to get there,” he said in remarks carried by the website NHL.com. So I don’t think there’s any question for him in terms of numbers.”
The 36-year-old also reiterated his desire to play for Canada with McDavid. The two athletes are likely to have the opportunity to do so, as the deputy commissioner of the National League has stated that the organization of an international competition is planned.
Last season, Crosby scored 33 goals and 60 assists for 93 points in 82 games.
