North Korea accused South Korean President Yoon Sukyeol of “maliciously defaming” relations between Pyongyang and Moscow in his speech to the UN General Assembly on Monday.
“It was simply the height of irony that the puppet, who lacked basic political knowledge and common sense regarding international relations, behaved so rudely and willingly acted as a subservient trumpeter and loudspeaker for the United States,” it says an article published by the state news agency KCNA.
In his speech to the United Nations, Yoon said an arms deal between the two countries would be a “serious provocation.”
“Yoon looked at the traditional relations of friendship and cooperation between the DPRK [República Popular Democrática da Coreia, nome oficial do país] and Russia as a “direct provocation to security and peace” in the South Korean puppet region and a “serious challenge to regional and global peace,” stating that “Seoul and its allies will not stand idly by,” he added.
The article then insisted on the alleged lack of political experience of the South Korean president, who was previously attorney general, on the deterioration of the regional climate due to the increase in military operations with Washington, on the ambiguity in diplomatic matters and on “relations between states only as a dichotomy between friend and enemy.”
Yoon’s speech at the United Nations was a response to the recent summit between North Korean leader Kim Jongun and Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the end of the meeting, Putin said that there was room for military and space cooperation between the two countries.
Days earlier, American media claimed that Kim was ready to support Moscow’s war in Ukraine with millions of antitank missiles and artillery shells. According to this news, Pyongyang would receive food aid as well as satellite and nuclear submarine technology in return.
