The complete technical data sheet of the Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro ends up in the wild. Enough to recognize the subtle differences between the two models.

For once, Google sees the entire future smartphone leaked before its presentation. This time it’s the turn of the Pixel 8 and 8 Pro, which will be presented alongside the Pixel Watch 2 on October 4th.
The leak again comes from leaker Kamila Wojciechowska, who has proven to be reliable when it comes to Google. If the most stratospheric information is undoubtedly the transition to 7 years (yes, yes) of security updates compared to five before, the full technical data sheet is also offered on 91mobiles.
Before focusing on one or the other, let’s add that both should have the same Tensor G3 chip, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.3, as well as IP 68 certification, an under-screen fingerprint and “Face Unlock” compatibility .
The Pixel 8 would go well to 120 Hz
We compensate with the smaller of the two. From the top of its 6.17 inches, the Pixel 8 would display an FHD+ OLED panel that would eventually move to 120Hz. Logical, since the Pixel 7a has switched to 90 Hz. On the other hand, it wouldn’t be an LTPO panel. It was therefore only possible to vary between 60 and 120 Hz, and only thanks to manual adjustment.
The Pixel 8 has a lot to prove in photos, as it is undoubtedly the champion of its category (thanks to Google’s algorithms). On the hardware side, it is equipped with a 50 Mpx sensor for its main module, which has hardware stabilization, a 12 Mpx sensor to accompany the ultra-wide-angle optics and a 10.5 Mpx sensor in the selfie part.

Despite its small size, the Pixel 8 should integrate a relatively generous 4575 mAh battery that charges at just 27W. When charging wirelessly, this drops to 18 W. It would be protected by first-generation Corning Gorilla Victus glass. There would be up to 8GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 128 to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
A Pixel 8 Pro in the armchair
The Pixel 8 Pro would look very similar to the Pixel 7 Pro. The most visible difference with the Pixel 8 will obviously be its format. It would maintain the 6.7-inch diagonal, but this would benefit from LTPO technology, which would allow it to drop to 1 Hz on paper.
Another element that justifies the step up to the higher class: the photo configuration would be much more muscular. Expect 50 Mpx for the main sensor, but also 48 Mpx for the ultra-wide-angle lens and 48 Mpx behind the telephoto lens. The latter would also pay for optical stabilization and could reach up to W30 in super resolution zoom.

Under the hood, Google would spice it up a bit with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage in Europe (the 1TB version would be reserved for the US). The battery would increase to 5050mAh when charging the device at 30W, which again is disappointing. Wireless charging would increase to 23W. The last small adjustment would be the second generation Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.

- Pixel 8: $699, up $100;
- Pixel 8 Pro: $899, the same price as last year.
How will these prices translate to France? We don’t know at the moment, but it wouldn’t be surprising if the price of the base Pixel 8 increased a bit. At the beginning of September, a leak estimated them at 799 euros and 1099 euros.
