  • BREAKING: More to come

The Pittsburgh Steelers’ jet had to make an emergency landing in Kansas City early this morning as the team headed home after a road win in Las Vegas.

The team’s charter flight, an Airbus A330-900, took off from Sin City at 9pm last night but suffered an oil pressure failure at 5am.

The pilots took immediate action and, after consulting with air traffic control, made an emergency landing in Kansas City.

The plane was met on the tarmac by fire engines and rescue workers as a precaution, but no one on board is believed to have been injured.

Steelers senior director of communications Burt Lauten wrote on

“Everyone on the plane is safe and we are making the necessary plans to arrive back in Pittsburgh later today.”
