Virginie Efira will star in a series on Disney+ in mid-November

series All is wella dramatic family comedy played notably by Virginie Efira will be released on November 15 on the Disney+ platform, its creator Camille de Castelnau, co-author of the Legend Office.

This production, in eight 52-minute episodes, follows an ordinary family struck by tragedy and a child’s serious illness, mixing drama and comedy in a way few French series have managed to do before.

Virginie Efira was treated imperially this year and plays Claire, the sister of Marion (Sara Giraudeau), who is very affected and disturbed by her niece’s illness. She also plays alongside Alyocha Schneider (Niels’ brother), Nicole Garcia and Bernard Le Coq, among others.

At the origin of the project is “the personal family experience” of Camille de Castelnau and her relatives, the author explains to AFP.

“We went through this torment of a little girl’s illness at that time, which was a very serious, fatal illness, it was years of torment,” explains the one who “always writes to restore emotions”.

“I wanted to talk about this moment of crisis” without falling into pure tragedy, as in real life, where “sometimes we laugh at times when we shouldn’t laugh,” as in “funerals,” adds this admirer of the Series Six Feet Under added Big Little Lies.

If the first two episodes are directed by the creator of the Office of Legends, Eric Rochant, and there we find Sara Giraudeau and his unforgettable spy Marina Loiseau, the two series do not have much in common, warns Camille de Castelnau, if not, she hopes for the the same “requirements for writing and distribution”.

After the historical drama (Oussekine), the family comedy (Week-end Family) or the romance (Irrésistible), Disney continues to expand its range of French productions with local creators.

The company has therefore “never tried to water down the series”, including “a very hard episode towards the end that tells things that I have never seen told,” assures Camille de Castelnau.
