Chameleons are characterized by their ability to change color. They are animals that specialize in camouflaging themselves in the environment to avoid predators. But even this ability wasn’t enough for a poor chameleon to save itself from an attack by an angry snake on a safari in South Africa.

The situation was observed by nature photographer Adele Sneyd, who was visiting Kruger National Park. The report was shared on LatestSightings.com.

Adele decided to take a walk in search of special pictures and finally found the two animals. “I noticed a chameleon in the middle of the road and stopped to take a photo,” he said. At first glance, she thought the chameleon had been run over, but when a stealthy snake emerged from the nearby grass, she realized the case was different.

However, it wasn’t just any snake, but a snake (Dispholidus typus), which is considered one of the most poisonous species in the world. Found in forests and savannahs in southern Africa, it is an excellent climber and usually hunts birds and other small animals such as chameleons in trees and on the ground.

The chameleon had already been bitten by the boomslang but was still alive, and the snake had moved away for a moment as Adele’s car approached. When the snake returned, it captured several moments of the fight, which ended with the snake swallowing the reptile whole.

At first the chameleon managed to crawl to the side of the road. But since he was already injured and poisoned, he was easy prey for the Boomslang, which caused him to swallow another of his meals alive.
