Trump goes gun shopping with Marjorie Taylor Greene: During a tour of the armory, the former president buys an $829.99 9mm GLOCK with his face on the handle

Donald Trump purchased a handgun with his face on it during a visit to South Carolina on Monday, stopping at the Palmetto State Armory with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene to purchase the handgun.

The Glock was apparently the special “Trump Edition” weapon, with the photo of the former president on the handle and the inscription “Trump 45” on the chamber.

“I’ll buy one.” “I want to buy one,” Trump said after examining the weapon. “Isn’t the Glock a great gun?”

One of the sellers told the former president that the Trump Bell was a best seller.

“They sell well,” Trump asked. When he heard “Yes,” he replied, “You like me.”

According to the Palmetto State Armory website, Trump purchased the GLOCK G19 GEN4 COMPACT “TRUMP” EDITION 9MM PISTOL, THREADED BARREL, which retails for $829.00.

In South Carolina, a buyer must either have a concealed carry permit or undergo an instant background check to purchase a firearm.

Form Trump would have to fill out an ATF form. He would then have to testify that he has not been charged with a crime and that he is neither a drug user nor a drug addict – as Hunter Biden did when he bought a gun in 2015.

Federal law bars anyone charged with a crime – which includes Trump, who faces multiple charges from the Justice Department related to his possession of classified documents and his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results – from buying a gun.

However, federal judges have ruled that such a regulation is not compatible with the constitution.

Trump posed with one of the vendors at the armory, according to photos and videos posted on social media as he made the purchase.

He also posed with a pistol and held it up for photos. Greene, a strong Trump ally, posted such an image on her social media and wrote, “President Trump is doing a little shopping in South Carolina! He will protect our great Second Amendment!!’

Trump’s purchase comes as President Joe Biden has created an office to prevent gun violence.

Gun violence is likely to also be a big issue in the 2024 presidential election campaign. Biden is appealing to suburban women, voters of color and younger voters who have expressed concerns about gun violence.

Trump, meanwhile, is a prominent advocate for Second Amendment rights.

Polls show Americans are increasingly concerned about the number of shootings in the country. The United States has one of the highest rates of gun violence in the world.

According to the Pew Research Center, six in 10 U.S. adults say gun violence is a very big problem in the country today. 62% of Americans said they expect the level of gun violence to increase in the next five years.

According to the Gun Violence Archive, there have been 504 mass shootings in the United States so far in 2023.

Trump did not sign legislation expanding background checks as president. However, he banned the sale of bump stock – a device that turns a firearm into a firearm that functions like an automatic weapon. A prod was used in the 2017 Las Vegas shooting, the deadliest mass shooting in American history.
