The Mavericks released a statement acknowledging that an incident involving the family of Suns point guard Chris Paul occurred during Game 4 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas on Sunday.
In the statement Provided by ESPN’s Dave McMenaminthe team announced that there had been an incident between a fan and Paul’s family. The fan was “quickly” removed from the game, according to the publication.
“The Dallas Mavericks are aware of an incident between a fan and Chris Paul’s family. It was unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated. The Mavericks, along with the American Airlines Center, quickly removed the fan from today’s game.”
News of the incident first came from Paul himself, who was broadcasting a passionate tweet after Phoenix’s ‘111-101 loss. The Suns point guard, who fouled the game 8:58 in the fourth quarter, reportedly spoke to security near the team bench about his family’s treatment in the stands

An aftermath report by McMenamin indicated that Paul’s mother, who was in the crowd on Sunday, had hands laid on her by Dallas fans. Paul’s wife was also reportedly pushed and followed down the aisle as she left her seat behind the Suns’ bench.
According to reports, Paul’s children witnessed the entire incident, and the entire group “felt very unsafe,” according to McMenamin.
The NBA did not release a statement regarding the incident as of Sunday night.
