The revealed sequence shows an overhead view of an haute couture fashion show and then moves backstage, where Ellias Barnes (Marc-André Grondin) appears to be on the verge of a seizure. When he is called to greet the audience, he still rushes into the applause, leaving the viewer terrified of seeing him collapse…
The sequel tells of a moment in the life of Ellias Barnes, who has recently been appointed head of a prestigious Parisian house and feels chest pains. When he is called back to Montreal for the funeral of a father he is not close to, he learns that he may have inherited something much worse than his father’s failing heart, the official synopsis states.
This film, starring Marc-André Grondin, is the second by Xavier Legrand, known for Until the Guard, which notably won an award in Venice in 2017. The French director was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Short Film in 2013. The sequel celebrates its world premiere on Sunday at the San Sebastian Festival in northern Spain.
