Celine Dion shares a rare snap of her three sons in a heartfelt tribute for Mother’s Day

Celine Dion took a rare look at her three sons Rene-Charles, 21, and 11-year-old twins Eddy and Nelson on Instagram on Sunday to celebrate Mother’s Day.

Taking to Instagram, the 54-year-old – who shared the trio with her late husband Rene Angelil – posted the sweet snap alongside a heartfelt message dedicated to the “brave” mothers in war-torn Ukraine.

She wrote: On this Mother’s Day I feel very fortunate to be able to be with my children and thinking of mothers in Ukraine and around the world who have lost their children…

“And for those mothers who are constantly concerned about how to keep their children safe…and for those mothers who devote all their energies to providing their children with the basic necessities of life.”

In the photo, a makeup-free Celine posed with her children as they celebrated the day with a candlelit cake.

The French-Canadian star cut a casual figure in an oversized gray sweater, her blonde tresses scraped back from her beautiful face.

Eldest son Rene, who Celine hugged in a jiffy, opted for a navy blue Montreal sweater, which he accessorized with a silver necklace and black baseball cap.

Eddy, 11, wore a gray T-shirt with the words Bronx and New York on it as he beamed from behind clear glasses.

While twin brother Nelson crouched behind his mother in a similar top, his dark hair fell relaxedly to his shoulders.

Celine also wrote, “These moms really are the brave ones and I dedicate this Mother’s Day to all of them. We pray they find peace and comfort for their families – Celine xx’.

The star ended the hearty message with a black heart emoji before posting the same words again in her native language, French.

This comes after Celine announced in a tearful Instagram video last month that she was once again postponing her European tour.

The Grammy winner revealed that she “still has some cramps” and that she wants to be in “top form” when she’s on stage.

Canadian superstar Courage’s tour began in September 2019, but in January 2022 she had canceled the remaining North American dates on the grounds of “severe and persistent muscle spasms preventing her from performing”.

“Well here we are again and I’m so sorry to have to change our European touring schedules yet again,” she said at the beginning of the video.

“First we had to reschedule the shows because of the pandemic, now it’s my health issues that are causing us to reschedule some shows. And unfortunately we also have to cancel some.”

The superstar gave her fans a quick health update, saying that while she was feeling better, her progress was taking longer than expected.

“The good news is that I’m doing a little bit better… but it’s going very slowly. And it’s very frustrating for me. You know I’m being treated by my doctors and on medication, but I’m still having some cramps and it’s taking a lot longer to recover than I had hoped.

“I have to be in top shape when I’m on stage. I honestly can’t wait, but I’m just not there yet. I’m just telling you how I feel,” she said as her voice broke.

“And I wanted you to know that I’m sorry for this news. I know you’ve all been waiting for the concerts for so long and I appreciate your loyalty.”

“Now I’m convinced that you should be so fed up with it all. And wait so long. But all I can say is I’m doing my best to get back to the level I need to be so I can give 100% at my shows because that’s what you deserve,” continued she continued.

“And thank you for the messages of love and support you always send to my social media. It means a lot to me.’

The blonde beauty ended her video with a message of support for the people of Ukraine.

“I also want to say that like all of you, I stand by the people of Ukraine and I hope and pray that this war will end soon. Sending you all my love and prayers for peace. I hope to see you soon. Until then, take care, okay? I love you so much.’

Celine’s tour was supposed to start in May 2022 but the shows have now been pushed back to February 2023.
