Quebec police are conducting an investigation to find a person suspected of attacking a young man with a knife in Victoria Park in La Cité-Limoilou on Saturday night.
According to calls from witnesses to the altercation, who reported a fight near Stade Canac in the park near the police station, the event would have happened around 10 p.m.
When officers from the Service de Police de la Ville de Québec (SPVQ) arrived, everyone involved had left the scene.
Just minutes later, police officers in the area confronted a visibly injured 18-year-old young man.
“The latter mentions being attacked by a suspect with a bladed weapon. His injuries were not serious and the victim declined medical transport,” SPVQ spokesman David Poitras said in a statement.
However, a security perimeter was set up at the site of the attack to allow technicians from the Forensic Identification Unit to analyze the crime scene.
Investigators from the city police have also looked into the file, but so far no suspect has been arrested.
