According to media reports, 125 people died in the explosion of a fuel depot in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Caucasus. The Interfax Azerbaijan news agency today cited the Armenian Ministry of Health.

The bodies were taken to Armenia, he said. Authorities in Nagorno-Karabakh corrected the confirmed death toll from 20 to 68. As announced by the government of the self-proclaimed republic, 290 people were also injured and 105 are still missing. The cause of the explosion was still unclear.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) announced the delivery of medicines to Nagorno-Karabakh. According to the ICRC, overcrowded hospitals and traffic jams caused by the exodus of ethnic Armenians pose a problem.

Many people are currently leaving Nagorno-Karabakh – mainly in cars and buses. According to the Armenian government, more than 28,100 of Nagorno-Karabakh’s total 120,000 ethnic Armenians have already arrived there.
