Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce called Taylor Swift’s public appearance at his team’s game against the Chicago Bears “pretty brave” but declined to elaborate on her relationship with the American pop singer.

In an interview as part of his podcast show New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce, available since Wednesday morning, Kelce discussed Swift’s presence with members of her family in a luxury box at Arrowhead Stadium during the Chiefs’ 41-10 victory last Sunday. The 12-time Grammy winner sat next to Kelce’s mother Donna and didn’t mind screaming during the game.

Kelce said everyone in the locker room’s attitude toward Swift was “great,” adding that there were only good comments about him.

“She looked great,” he admitted. Everyone spoke very positively about her. And besides, the day ended well for Chiefs fans. Of course, you guessed it, it was planned.”

Kelce and Swift left the stadium together after the game and the two-time Super Bowl champion joked, “We sped away in the getaway car.”

Kelce said he was aware of the public interest in his relationship with Swift, adding that he had seen paparazzi outside his home. His presence before and after the meeting led to a meteoric rise in sales of the star tight end’s jerseys, with licensed sporting goods manufacturer “Fanatics” even telling the Associated Press that it was one of the NFL’s top five best-selling jerseys Sunday.

“Looks like the ‘Swifties’ are part of the Chiefs kingdom too,” Kelce concluded.
