The war in Ukraine is being fought in both the military and information spheres. According to Moscow, the Ukrainian attack on Sevastopol on September 22 was carried out in close coordination with the USA and Great Britain. This was reported by Tass. However, in the last few hours it emerged that the Ukrainian advance was aided by secret information about the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Apparently it was Russian officers who passed them on to a Ukrainian military partisan movement in order to take revenge for the late receipt of their salaries.

Atesh’s fighters revealed this background. Crimean Tatars who helped the Ukrainians told the Kyiv Post that they managed to collect sensitive information from senior Russian commanders who were upset that they had not received their salaries from Moscow on time. The Russians would have revealed everything they knew about the fleet and received sums of money in return. A member of the Atesh partisan movement explained that it was not just the delays in payments that pushed the Moscow military to betray the Russian authorities: “The financial reward was the key incentive that convinced them to cooperate with us,” he said .
