ITV is changing up its presenting schedule as stars move from This Morning to Good Morning Britain midweek
ITV saw a presenter shake-up this week as Ben Shephard returned from This Morning to Good Morning Britain on Thursday.
The 48-year-old presenter usually hosts GMB alongside co-host Susanna Reid, but this week she is co-hosting This Morning with Holly Willoughby, which is a big change.
But Ben returned to the GMB breakfast show as usual on Thursday and Susanna, 52, hilariously joked that he had “cheated” with his appearance on This Morning.
After the opening credits rolled, Susanna joked: “You’re on the wrong show, Ben Shephard!”
Ben replied: “I was next door”, to which Susanne said: “I actually have the feeling that you cheated, I saw you with another woman!”

Ben gushed about Holly and then said: “How nice and friendly she was, warm.”
But Susanna insisted he couldn’t move to This Morning full-time after proving hugely popular with fans, saying: “He texted me saying: ‘You know what they tell you on this show.’ Make cheesecake.”
Ben admitted he enjoyed resting up to appear on This Morning, which starts at 10am, compared to GMB, which starts bright and early at 6am.
Ben co-hosts GMB every Thursday and Friday, but his schedule was changed when he appeared on This Morning with Holly earlier this week.
It was Ben’s first time presenting the ITV daytime program in six years, but he quickly won fans over with his presenting style.
Ben was the latest star to appear alongside Holly as the list of co-hosts continues following Phillip Schofield’s unceremonious exit earlier this year.
Other replacement presenters so far have included Friday presenters Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary as well as Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle.
And viewers loved Ben’s appearance on the show this week, saying he was “ideal” for a permanent job as presenter on the show.

One person loved the pairing and said: “Ben Shephard, excellent choice with Holly! Definitely a keeper!”
Another agreed, saying: “Glad to see Ben Shephard co-hosting with Holly this morning. ‘More presentable and didn’t constantly talk over the guests!’
A third mused that the show “finally got it right with Ben,” writing: “FINALLY you got it right with Ben Shephard, best thing ever!!! ‘I’ll watch again if you keep Ben.’
Another also agreed, saying: “Keep Ben as a permanent presenter!”
