Indian teenager holds Guinness World Record for longest hair in the world
Sidakdeep Singh Chahal, a 15yearold Indian teenager with long hair measuring more than 130 centimeters, broke the record for the male teenager with the longest hair in the world and entered the Guinness Book of Records.
The one who helps him maintain the length of his hair is his mother, who washes, combs and ties it. Loose, the wires almost touch the ground. See video above.
“The support from my parents has been tremendous, especially my mother, who has taken care of my hair since I was a child. She washed, styled and tied my hair for many years. My father’s support was also enormous.”
In an interview with Guinness, the young man said that he washes his hair twice a week and spends at least an hour each time on care, which includes drying and brushing.
He then explains that he usually ties his hair in a bun and covers it with a dastār (a type of turban), as is the custom of the Sikhs, an ethnic group from northern India.
The teenager also claims that growing his hair is a religious decision. According to their belief, hair is a divine gift.
Admitting both criticism and praise, Chahal says she has mixed experiences with long hair. Now, he says, he has received calls from friends and family congratulating him on his achievement.
Try to reach Guinness
“I consider myself very lucky to be able to hold a world record. After seeing how many people have done it over and over again on TV, on the news and on social media, I’m thrilled when I look at the record and realize that I’m the one who has it. “
The young man also says that he has been trying To with Guinness since 2021 and that there have been several attempts to be accepted since then.
