Britney Spears is being investigated by police after disturbing knife video

Police checked Britney Spears’ health on Wednesday after the pop star shared a video of herself dancing with knives.

Spears twirled around her house, two large knives in hand, while wearing a crop top and bikini bottoms.

The video she shared on Instagram sparked concern and the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department conducted a welfare check on the “Circus” singer, Fox News Digital confirmed.

After the sheriff’s department determined from two independent sources that Spears was in no physical or emotional danger, officers felt comfortable enough to resolve the call without incident.

A representative for Spears did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.

A member of the LAPD Smart Team, which handles mental health calls, initially reported the concern to the Ventura County Sheriff’s Department.

Spears shared the dancing video and wrote, “I started playing with knives in the kitchen today!!! Don’t worry, they are NOT real knives!!!!”

However, the knives made the typical clanging noise when she smashed them together.

She later clarified the video, telling fans: “Stop worrying about the knives I copy Shakira!!!”

This isn’t the first time Spears has come under police scrutiny. In January, the “Toxic” singer called out her fans for violating her privacy in a post shared on X, formerly Twitter.

“As everyone knows, the police were called to my home due to some prank calls,” Spears wrote. “I love and adore my fans, but this time it went a little too far and my privacy was violated.”

“It felt like I was being cheered on and bullied when the incident hit the news and was once again portrayed in a bad and unfair light by the media,” she wrote.

Spears is dealing with her divorce from Sam Asghari. According to court documents obtained by Fox News Digital, the model filed for divorce on August 16, citing “irreconcilable differences.”

The couple’s separation date is listed as July 28, and Asghari requested spousal support and legal fees in his filing.

Spears married Asghari in June 2022 at her home in Southern California in front of guests that included Selena Gomez and Madonna. The wedding was seen as a milestone in her newfound life after she was freed from a judicial conservatorship that controlled her for well over a decade.

The former couple met in 2016 on the set of the music video for their song “Slumber Party.” They began dating, and the pop star later cited a desire to marry Asghari as one of the reasons she fought to end the conservatorship that had stopped her from marrying the 29-year-old model.
