A residential building in the Val-Bélair sector in Quebec was the scene of a suspected criminal fire on the night of Thursday to Friday.

The Quebec Fire Protection Service (SPCIQ) responded to 1269 Rue Gunter just after 2 a.m. Friday morning. A fire had just broken out in the single-family home.
“The fire department quickly brought the fire under control. The damage had no impact on the structure of the residence,” said Sandra Dion, spokesperson for the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).

However, the elements discovered by the authorities on site indicate that the fire was the result of a criminal and deliberate act, emphasizes the police, who refuse to provide further details on these elements.

SPVQ investigators will investigate the matter.
Since the house was empty at the time of the incident, no one was injured. Furthermore, no arrests have been made in this case to date.
