Man arrested in Las Vegas in connection with 1996 murder of American rapper

According to several American media outlets, a man has been arrested in Las Vegas for the murder of rapper Tupac Shakur.

Duane “Keffe D” Davis was arrested early Friday morning, although the exact charges are unclear.

A formal indictment is reportedly expected later on Friday.

The arrest represents a long-awaited breakthrough in a case that has frustrated investigators and fascinated the public since the hip-hop star was killed in Las Vegas 27 years ago.

Recall that the famous hip-hop artist was shot in Las Vegas on September 7, 1996 and died of his injuries in the hospital six days later at the age of 25.

Tupac had attended a boxing match with Suge Knight in Vegas on the day he was killed. He was sitting in a black sedan on Las Vegas Boulevard when a white Cadillac pulled up next to him and opened fire.
