Steven Tyler has ‘broken his larynx’, remaining 2023 dates of Aerosmith’s farewell tour postponed until next year

CNN –

Steven Tyler will have to wait a while to perform again as he recovers from a serious vocal cord injury.

The 75-year-old singer “broke his larynx,” according to a statement posted on the verified Facebook page of his band Aerosmith. For this reason, the band has postponed the remaining dates of their 2023 “Peace Out” farewell tour until next year.

“To our fans: Unfortunately, Steven’s vocal injury is more serious than initially thought. “His doctor has confirmed that in addition to the damage to his vocal cords, he has also suffered a fractured larynx, which requires ongoing care,” the statement said.

“He is receiving the best medical treatment available to ensure a speedy recovery, but given the nature of the fracture he is told that patience is essential.” As a result, all currently scheduled PEACE OUT shows must be postponed until sometime in 2024. New dates will be announced as soon as we know more.”

The statement included a personal note from Tyler, who wrote: “It breaks my heart not to be out there with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes, rocking with the best fans in the world.” I promise we will Be back as soon as possible!”

Earlier this month, Tyler and the band announced that he had suffered “vocal cord damage” and “subsequent bleeding,” forcing him to take a thirty-day break from singing.

While the dates from this time have already been postponed, the remaining “Peace Out” tour dates in October, November and December will also be postponed.

The 40-date North American tour was billed as both a celebration of Aerosmith’s 50th anniversary and a last hurray.
