MLB: A fan wanted to enter the stadium with an alligator

One person thought he could spend Wednesday night with his friend, an alligator named Wally, at Citizens Bank Park, home of the Philadelphia Phillies, but authorities denied him entry.

The story, unusual to say the least, was brought to light by the Philadelphia Inquirer newspaper and supported by photos from social networks. The affected fan, Joie Henney, wanted to attend the game against the Pittsburgh Pirates and appeared at the entrance with his reptile, which he had on a leash.

His owner believes he is a “psychiatric or psychological support alligator” (Editor’s note: In the United States, the terms “emotional support animal” are used to describe similar cases). However, according to the local newspaper, Phillies stadium security seemed unmoved and blocked the duo’s path.

Henney has said in the past that Wally, who has a following on TikTok and Instagram, would like to give hugs. Last year he was seen at Love Park in Philadelphia and did not attack anyone, said the man, who struggles with depression.
