The Montreal Canadiens placed forwards Lucas Condotta and Mitchell Stephens and defensemen Nicolas Beaudin and Brady Keeper on waivers with the goal of trading them to the Laval Rocket.
This means that the 31 other teams can claim it as their own until midday on Sunday.
We can also assume that more players will be removed from CH training camp after Saturday night’s game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Condotta, a player who was never drafted, was eligible to play with CH in 2022-2023. In 2022-2023, his first full professional season, he recorded 31 points in 72 games for the Rocket.
Stephens is a 26-year-old center who the Habs signed on the free agent market in 2022. He previously wore the colors of the Tampa Bay Lightning and Detroit Red Wings.
For his part, Beaudin was selected in the first round (27th overall) by the Chicago Blackhawks in the 2018 draft. The Canadian received him in return for striker Cam Hillis in October 2022. Last year with the Rocket, the Quebecer scored twice and provided 23 assists for 25 points in 39 games.
After all, Keeper is a newcomer to the Bleu Blanc Rouge organization. He was hired as a free agent last July after stints with the Florida Panthers, Lightning and Vancouver Canucks organizations.
