Responding to emails can sometimes be a hassle, especially if you receive a lot of emails every day. Google wants to solve this problem by allowing Gmail users to respond with emojis.

Good news for Gmail users, Google is preparing to add a popular feature to its messaging app: reactions with emojis. This feature, already available in applications such as Messenger, WhatsApp or Google Messages, could really disrupt the way Google mailbox works.

This feature was first discovered by The Tape Drive a few weeks ago after code was discovered in the Gmail app for iOS that allows users to respond to emails with an emoji. However, we now know what these new reactions will look like.

Leaker AssembleDebug has already shared screenshots showing how emoji reactions work on TheSpAndroid. Once the option is activated, A smiley face emoji silhouette appears to the right of an email in Gmail. When you click on it, you’ll get the “Quick reply and add personality” suggestion that lets you choose an emoji.

If you choose this option, Recipients who use Gmail will see your emoji at the end of the email. Those who join the conversation but don’t use Gmail will receive your feedback in the form of a standard email.

Also note that you have five predefined options when reacting to an emoji. However, if you tap the “+” you will open a menu that offers more options. In total, almost 50 emojis are available, A maximum of 20 emoji reactions can be added to an email.

According to AssembleDebug on TheSpAndroid, emoji reactions are expected to roll out to Gmail in batches starting in October. you will be initially available for the Android and iOS applications. It’s unclear whether the web version of Gmail will be compatible with this new feature. In the meantime, we know that Google is preparing to deploy more features in its application, including a very useful option that is expected by many users.
